Compression Test Gas Pedal To Floor

Hello i take spark plug out screw my compression test in cart is in neutral push pedal all the way down.

So could a mechanic turn the ignition on jam the gas pedal to the floor to open the throttle then do the compression test making sure to disable the ignition signal to the spark plugs. Hold the gas to the floor and crank it over 5 10 times until it stops going up then do the same for the other plugs. I then installed the compression gauge and while i had my gas pedal all the way to the floor i was cranking the motor for about 5 10 sec on each cylinder until it reached its. What i did was before the compression test i went for a nice hard drive so the car can reach operating temps quickly and when i had it at about 190 200f i shut the car.

Hold the gas pedal to the floor to open the throttle plate and keep it at wot wide open throttle for as long as you re cranking if you didn t pull the mpi fuse there would be a bit of a mess now. This should put the fuel system into clear flood mode which means it turns off the injectors while you crank. In the video below i show putting the gas pedal to the floor when cranking the engine. Have your assistant hold the gas pedal all the way to the floor wot wide open throttle and begin cranking the engine over for a count of 5 to 7 seconds.

A compression test is a good way to get a baseline of the mechanical health of your engine. Is this correct way i am getting 150psi doing it this way but i don t know if i am supposed to be putting gas pedal all the way down. Record your readings from the gauge and repeat this on all cylinders. Make sure the car is at operating temp also i take the ecu fuse out so i won t get fuel then i just take out one spark plug and screw the compression tester in.
